NOSC Tucson Commanding Officer Relieved

Commander, Navy Region Southwest Reserve Component Command, San Diego, Capt. Doug Stuffle, U.S. Navy, has relieved Cmdr. Jonathan W. Morton, commanding officer of Navy Operational Support Center Tucson, Arizona, due to loss of confidence.

The Tucson police department arrested Morton Nov. 24 and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Newman, who is assigned to commander, Navy Region Southwest Reserve Component Command, San Diego, is expected to assume the duties of commanding officer.

Morton became NOSC Tucson commanding officer in June 2015.

He has been reassigned to Navy Region Southwest Reserve Component Command, San Diego, pending further action.
