The Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) Learning Site Yokosuka served as the host site for a Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) "active threat" seminar for more than 50 Japanese law enforcement personnel, Jan. 20.

The day opened with NCIS special agents detailing the latest tactics and techniques for how they conduct tactical team movements and room entries.

The presentation emphasized how this type of training could enhance future interoperability between the United States and Japanese Law Enforcement Agencies.

By using one of the Learning Site's Force Protection Ship Simulators, NCIS agents were able to stage intense realistic active shooter scenarios. This allowed their Japanese guests to see first-hand, the tactical team movements previously discussed in action.

Chief Superintendent Yasuhiro Ootsuka thanked NCIS and CENSECFOR for hosting the event. He also added the professionalism and realism greatly exceeded his expectations. Ootsuka is the director of the Investigation Office for Special Cases, 1st Investigation Division, Criminal Affairs Bureau, National Police Agency.

The Center for Security Forces provides specialized training to more than 28,000 students each year. It has 14 training locations across the United States and around the world where training breeds confidence.
