Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Jacksonville staff and instructors scored perfect marks on a Training Management Assessment Program (TMAP) inspection Feb. 9-11 aboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville.

The review of CNATTU Jacksonville programs, conducted concurrently during the three-day inspection by Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training headquarters personnel from Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., examined courses and Navywide programs.

CNATTU Jacksonville Commanding Officer Cmdr. Carvin Brown said the unit's nearly 200 Sailors, Marines and civilian employees have always maintained a rigid curriculum and impeccable standards.

"I am truly proud of each and every one of the Sailors, Marines and civilians [employees] here," he said. "Their professionalism and willingness to step up to conquer this great challenge reflected great credit upon themselves and the CNATTU Jacksonville family."

The TMAP inspection centered around the management of courses, curriculum and instructional practices of the organization's more than 100 courses offered while the area visit team inspected a total of 15 CNATTU Jacksonville programs including the urinalysis program, the Command Managed Equal Opportunity (CMEO) and the Drug and Alcohol Programs Advisor (DAPA) programs.

The Training Management Assessment Program (TMAP) inspection showed no major discrepancies, earning CNATTU Jacksonville a perfect 100 percent rating. CNATT headquarters area visit inspectors rated 14 of the 15 programs they examined as 'above average.'

Brown added that both inspection teams recognized hurdles facing CNATTU Jacksonville staff and instructors, such as operating both at Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Training Support Detachment (TSD) Mayport, supporting Mobile Training Team (MTT) visits around the globe and the transition from P-3C to P-8A maintenance training.

CNATTU Jacksonville maintains 102 different courses covering three different aircraft and various aviation support equipment. More than 5,000 United States and foreign military students complete courses at CNATTU Jacksonville annually.

CNATTU Jacksonville is part of the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT), which provides single-site management for Navy and Marine Corps aviation technical training.

CNATT is the technical training agent for Naval Aviation Enterprise, an organization designed to advance and sustain naval aviation warfighting capabilities at an affordable cost, and is the largest training center under the Naval Education and Training Command.
