Navy Identifies Virginia Beach Sailor Who Died

The Navy announced today the name of the Sailor who died Sept. 26, after being taken off life support by his family.

Electronics Technician Seaman Dalton Andrew Frye, 19, of Chester, WV., assigned to Training Support Center Hampton Roads (TSCHR), died after he was hospitalized Thursday morning.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family," said Capt. Brent Kyler, commanding officer, Training Support Center. "His loss is felt by our entire community."

Frye enlisted in the U.S Navy on July 29, 2014, and was enrolled in the Navy's Data Link Communication System Maintenance School. Following graduation from school, he had follow-on orders to the USS Ramage (DDG-61).

Frye is survived by his parents and sister.

An investigation by the Navy and Naval Criminal Investigative Service to determine the details of his death is in progress.
