The Commanding Officer, Naval Support Activity (NSA) Panama City presented command coins to Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Jacksonville Detachment Panama City civilian and reservist fuel personnel November 19.

The presentation was in recognition of outstanding fuel support during biannual exercises HAWKEX and VULCANEX conducted by HM-14 and HM-15 for Airborne Mine Countermeasure Training at NSA Panama City. The joint workforce of government, contractor and reserve personnel issued more than 110,000 gallons of JP-5 in support of 74 sorties from HM-14 and HM-15 during the exercises.

During the four week exercise, Aviation Boatswain's Mate 1st Class Julio Rodriguez, Aviation Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Troy Williams and Aviation Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Shequanta Whitten from NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville's Reserve Unit augmented the workforce, ensuring successful refueling support. Without reservists, the fuel division would have struggled in order to meet additional operational commitments.

The reservists were also instrumental in the receipt of 125,000 gallons of JP-5 aircraft fuel, F-76 marine diesel, MOGAS and diesel fuels during the exercise. Additionally, they provided fuel handling safety expertise to British ship HMS Victoria and refueled a contracted vessel See Wee.

Demonstrating superb professionalism and an eagerness to learn during their augmentation, these reservists qualified in three watch stations, enhancing their professional capabilities for future deployments.
