Naval Air Station Fallon held a frocking ceremony in the chapel for 14 Sailors who advanced to the next pay grade, May 28.

The frocking ceremony, where Sailors receive the right to wear the uniform and assume the responsibilities of their next rank, is a Navy tradition that precedes actual advancement. Sailors are then advanced in pay over the course of three cycles throughout the year.

Advancing as petty officers were Master-at-Arms 1st Class Travis Braun, Master-at-Arms 1st Class Ronald Milligan, Master-at-Arms 1st Class David Sims, Air Traffic Controller 1st Class David Turnham, Air Traffic Controller 2nd Class Justin Lauter, Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Donald Meyer, Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Kelsey Brodzik, Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Dominic Herman, Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Sean Hill, Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Paul Holland, Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Michael Morgan, Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Fuels) 3rd Class Blake Oberkrom, Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Jackie Tarris, and Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Joseph Varnado.

"It's always a pleasure to advance Sailors to the next paygrade," said NAS Fallon's Commanding Officer Capt. Leif Steinbaugh. "These advancements are a testament to the hard work and motivation these Sailors display on a daily basis."

In addition to NAS Fallon's 14 frockees, the tenant commands of Fleet Readiness Center, Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Fleet Intelligence Detachment, and Naval Munitions Command Detachment Fallon frocked 37 Sailors.
