The Command Master Chief for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF) was relieved of his duties July 18.
The Command Master Chief for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF) was relieved of his duties July 18. Command Master Chief (CMDCM) Jeff VanBlaracum was relieved by PHNSY&IMF Commander Capt. Jamie Kalowsky following VanBlaracum's arrest by Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam base police on suspicion of driving under the influence. At the time of the arrest, VanBlaracum was in the process of turning over his role as Command Master Chief to his prospective relief. Due to this issue, Kalowsky, accelerated the change of office and CMDCM James Schneider became the Shipyard's Command Master Chief early Saturday morning. VanBlaracum assumed his duties as PHNSY&IMF Command Master Chief in April 2012. He has been temporarily assigned to another office at PHNSY&IMF pending adjudication of the case.
