On March 18, a U.S. Navy civilian assigned to Commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command (CNRFC) tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Norfolk, Virginia. The individual is currently quarantined at home in accordance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines.
Personnel that have been in proximity to the workspace of the affected employee are self-isolating as a precaution and have been encouraged to telework to the maximum extent possible. The civilian employee will remain in contact with medical professionals and the command while undergoing a 14-day quarantine period at home.
Health professionals are conducting a thorough contact investigation to determine whether any other personnel may have been in close contact and possibly exposed. Depending on the results of that investigation, additional precautionary measures may be taken.
Commander, Navy Reserve Force is committed to taking every measure possible to protect the health of our force. We remain in close coordination with state and federal authorities, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of our personnel and local population.
