WASHINGTON - Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Washington has awarded a $13.5 million firm-fixed-price task order under a multiple award construction contract, Sept. 28, to G-W Management Services, LLC (small business) of Rockville, Maryland, for long-term structural repair of Buildings 54 and 55 of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
Design and construction services will be provided for Building 54 and Building 55, at Naval Support Activity Bethesda. Construction work entails repairing all critical elements of the garages, including topping slabs, pre-stressed concrete double-tees, inverted tee beams, precast concrete beams, expansion joints, stairs, curbs, columns, and guardrails. All elements, such as mechanical, plumbing, electrical and fire-sprinklers protection of the garages, are also included.
Fiscal 2020 operations and maintenance (Defense Health Agency) contract funds are obligated on this award. The work will be performed in Bethesda, Md., and is expected to be completed by July 2023.
