Springfield is one of four Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarines forward deployed to the island of Guam and assigned to Commander, Submarine Squadron (CSS) 15. Albacore served in the Pacific theater during WWII and was presumed lost and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on March, 30 1945.
