ADRIATIC SEA (Sept. 11, 2023) Distinguished visitors from the Estonian parliament and military observe flight operations on the flight deck of the world's largest aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), Sept. 11, 2023. The visitors embarked Gerald R. Ford to meet with Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group leadership. Gerald R. Ford is the U.S. Navy's newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, representing a generational leap in the U.S. Navy's capacity to project power on a global scale. The Gerald R. CARIBBEAN SEA

CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 8, 2023) The Colombian navy exclusive economic zone patrol ship ARC Victoria (PZE-48) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force training squadron ships JS Kashima (TV-3508) and JS Hatakaze (TV-3520) conduct a tri-lateral passing exercise with the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Detroit (LCS 7), not pictured, in the Caribbean Sea, Sept. 8, 2023. The passing exercise enhanced communication and interoperability between forces and improved operational readiness. Detroit is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations assigned to support Commander, Task Force 45’s mission. The mission includes combined naval operations, partnership building, and acting as a service provider to Joint Interagency Task Force South by supporting counter illicit-drug trafficking in Central and South American waters. ISHIGAKI, Okinawa (Sept. 7, 2023) Sailors aboard the Avenger-class mine countermeasure ship USS Pioneer (MCM 9) secure a banner to the gangway after the ship arrives at Ishgaki Port on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 7, 2023. This marks the first time that a U.S. Navy ship has pulled into Ishigaki since 2009 and the first that the Pioneer has made port at the island.
