NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (April 16, 2024) A KC-46A Pegasus from the U.S. Air Force's 412th Test Wing conducts tanker-receiver aerial refueling compatibility testing with an E-2D Advanced Hawkeye from the U.S. Navy's Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20. Certifying the tanker-receiver pair will sustain the E-2D aerial refueling capability as the Air Force modernizes its tanker fleet ultimately extending the airborne early warning, battle management, and integrated air and missile defense missions through significantly increased persistence and range. Wasp is underway in the Atlantic Ocean completing integrated naval training as the flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)-24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4 and Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG) work together with Joint and allied teammates to mentor, train, and assess ARGs and MEUs in support of U.S. and allied economic, security, and defense interests.
