Battle of Midway Remembrance

Retired Lt. Cmdr. Richard Nowatzki, second from right, who served on board the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV 8) during the 1942 Battle of Midway, spoke at this year’s remembrance ceremony. Hornet was later sunk in the Battle of Santa Cruz Islands. America is the first ship of its class and is optimized for Marine Corps aviation.
