Green Bay assist with security for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

181115-N-DX072-1269 PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (Nov. 15, 2018) A UH-1Y Huey helicopter, assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 469, prepares to land on the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) during a training evolution. Green Bay is in Port Moresby to assist with security efforts ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference and is the second U.S. ship to visit Port Moresby in the last two months. Green Bay is part of Amphibious Squadron 11 and is operating in the region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
