171005-N-BD308-1422 CARIBBEAN SEA (Oct. 5, 2017) The amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) carries MH-60S Sea Hawk and MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopters that transfer emergency supplies as part of relief efforts in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
