MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (January 7, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Sterling Wold, a hospital corpsman in Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton’s Family Medicine Immunizations Clinic, gives a flu shot to a patient Jan. 7, 2016. Wold and his fellow staff members administer approximately 500 immunizations a week to TRICARE beneficiaries. The Flu season lasts from October to March and peaks during February. The best way to keep from getting the flu is to come in and get a flu shot, it’s not too late. Beneficiaries can receive the flu shot or other immunizations in the patient’s primary care immunizations clinics on a walk-in basis or patients may call their Medical Home Port Team or doctor to find out more. Flu vaccines may also be received at no cost from any TRICARE-authorized provider or at one of the TRICARE retail network pharmacies that participate in the vaccination program.
