YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 18, 2021) Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Port Operations boat teams support a dry-docking evolution of Floating Workshop YR 85 for repairs and maintenance into CFAY's Dry Dock #2 which was originally built in 1884. Once the barge was in place, the dry dock was drained thus giving workers full access to all parts of the barge for repair. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
