SANTA RITA, Guam (June 13, 2022) Sailors attached to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion (NCHB) 1, Detachment Guam, observe Navy Munitions Command East Asia Division (NMC EAD), Unit Guam, as they load a MK-141 Harpoon missile launcher onto the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) during a weapons onload in support of Valiant Shield 2022. The event provided NCHB-1 with an integrated training opportunity with NMC. Exercises such as Valiant Shield allows the Indo-Pacific Command Joint Forces the opportunity to integrate forces from all branches of service to conduct precise, lethal, and overwhelming multi-axis, multi-domain effects that demonstrate the strength and versatility of the Joint Force and our commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
