(April 20, 2023) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Fuel) 2nd Class Jasmine Lee lights a candle during a Days of Remembrance ceremony at the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads base chapel, April 20. A torah which predated World War II and originated from central Europe, was loaned from the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) for the ceremony. Days of Remembrance was established by the U.S. Congress to memorialize the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust as well as the millions of victims who were targeted for racial, political, ideological, and behavioral reasons.
