NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 16, 2023) Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) Internal Medicine Doctor Lt. Thomas Brooke examines Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Farrie Jalin as part of a pier-side trauma training exercise, Feb. 16, 2023. The evolution was conducted as part of a Naval Medical Forces Atlantic and U.S. Fleet Forces Command-driven effort to align with and support fleet and joint requirements, and to improve deployment readiness of organic fleet medical departments. During the evolution, the ship’s medical staff participated in several medical scenarios and received real-time feedback in order to build enhanced knowledge and skillsets.
