Sandeep Mehta, assistant controller of carrier projects and assistant controller of warship production and acquisition, is piped aboard the world's largest aircraft carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), April 11, 2024, as part of a bilateral exchange of information for aircraft carrier construction and maintenance. The visit provides an opportunity to strengthen strategic partnership between the U.S. and Indian navies. The visit is part of the Department of Defense, Defense Technology and Trade Initiative between the United States and Indian Navy (IN). The U.S. Navy supports an ongoing series of interactions with the IN called the Joint Working Group for Aircraft Carrier Technology Cooperation.
