NYARNG 1st Battalion 69th Infantry Regiment Early morning St Patrick's Day March 3/17/22
New York National Guard
March 17, 2022 | 0:30
Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment, march in the early morning hours towards St Patrick’s Cathedral to attend a special St Patrick’s Day mass service which honors the regiments fallen and honors its Irish heritage prior to the annual NYC St Patrick’s Day parade on March 17, 2022. The 69th Infantry started the day, full of tradition, at 6 a.m. with a whiskey toast and then to the parade, after the cathedral service, where city officials estimated more than 2 million showed up to watch which has been held every year since 1762, with the 69th leading it since 1851. (Video by NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs, New York Guard Capt. Mark Getman)
