One year from the defeat of the physical caliphate
Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve
Feb. 26, 2020 | 1:07
This U.S. Special Operations Forces-led train, equip, and partner mission exemplifies one of the most effective employments of special operations forces in history. Since our inception, we've partnered by, with, and through our partners to methodically defeat ISIS and its remnants - that mission is unchanged.
However, the ISIS ideology continues to fester and if left unchallenged the terrorist organization could re-build, jeopardizing regional stability. Our partners are the best local security forces to prevent an ISIS resurgence in the region.
Continued Coalition Special Operations Forces presence, in support of local forces, must be supported to keep relentless pressure on this patient adversary. We are currently in position to support our Iraqi and Syrian partners and remain we committed to counter-terrorism operations.
