NY Air National Guard gets historic HC-130 aircraft at its front gate

“The Spirit of Long Island” HC-130 Hercules aircraft, tail number 0222, which saw service during the Vietnam War and later assigned to the New York Air National Guard 106th Rescue Wing located at Francis S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base, Westhampton Beach, New York, until its decommissioning in 2019, completely re-assembled at its new static display site at the front of the base on August 18, 2021. The disassembling, move and re-assembling was completed by Air National Guard service members from New York, Connecticut, Arkansas, and US Air Force Active-duty personnel.
