Armed Forces Bosnia-Herzegovina (AF BiH) is in the process of developing their country’s Joint Terminal Attack Control (JTAC) program.

JTACs are qualified service members who direct the action of combat aircraft engaged in close air support.

This JTAC program will be one of the first specialty-selected, trained and equipped units in AF BiH.

The establishment of the national JTAC program is in part possible through the assistance and advising of U.S. Special Operations Forces.

This involves creating the necessary documentation, training standards and selection process to ensure candidates become fully qualified.

As part of this ongoing effort, US SOF also trains AF BiH JTAC cadre on advanced infantry skills, with the eventual goal of creating a TACP (Tactical Air Control Party) style JTAC program.

By assisting partner forces to develop specialty units, SOCEUR ensures a unified front to deter potential enemy aggression.
