Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomes participants of Balikatan 23 to the 81st Araw ng Kagitingan, or Day of Valor at Mt. Samat in Bataan, Philippines, April 10, 2023. U.S. service members participating in the Balikatan 23 exercise attended the event to stand together in honoring the fallen. Balikatan is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
