Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield became the first woman to lead the Naval War College in 2019, where she currently serves as its 57th President (2023). Chatfield was also the first commanding officer of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25. She subsequently commanded a joint provincial reconstruction team in Farah Province, Afghanistan, and was type wing commander of HSC Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Chatfield also commanded Joint Region Marianas from 2017-2019.
