Master Chief Laura S. Nunley was the fifth woman to be selected as a CMC of an aircraft carrier when she became the CMC of the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). Selected as a CMC in 2011, she also served as the CMC of USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) and Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 15. In 2021, Nunley became the first woman selected as the deputy MCPON. She currently serves as the CMC of commander, Naval Information Forces Command (2023).
