Christine Fox started her career working as a maritime air superiority specialist and defense analyst who worked at Top Gun (which inspired a character in the original film) and ultimately would become the most senior woman in leadership in the defense department. She served as the the acting deputy secretary of defense from 2013-2014. Currently, she is the assistant director for policy and analysis at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, a position she has held since 2014.
