RMKS/1.  This ALNAV announces a temporary change to the requirement for 
Special Duty Medical Examinations in response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 
(COVID-19).  All Navy and Marine Corps personnel requiring a Special Duty 
Medical Examination for dive, flight, landing craft air cushion, naval 
special warfare and special operations, nuclear field duty, radiation, and 
submarine duty status in the months of March 2020 through June 2020 are 
authorized an extension of four months from date of current exam expiration.
This extension is granted due to limited availability and resources under the 
current force health protection guidance.  The continuing requirement to meet 
established physical standards still applies.

2.  Mission.  All commands with personnel who are required to have a Special 
Duty Medical Examination and with personnel who perform Special Duty Medical 
Examinations will communicate this change.

3.  Policy.  This ALNAV applies to all civilian and uniformed military Navy 
and Marine Corps personnel required per references (a) through (c) to have a 
Special Duty Medical Examination to continue in their special duty status.
