Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One established high-frequency radio communications from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit One operating over 2,000 miles away in Adak, Alaska during Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019 with field expedient high-frequency communications antennas (pictured). Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One is testing a variety of communications to prepare for operating in austere environments supporting EOD forces in eliminating explosive threats. AECE is one in a series of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercises in 2019 that prepares joint forces to respond to crises in the Indo-Pacific.
