The Fox & Friends morning show hosted the HESCO BoneFrog Challenge, a friendly competition between the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, to celebrate 2017 Fleet Week New York (FWNY), May 25.

This version of the BoneFrog Challenge is comprised of five obstacles. Competitors must overcome challenges ranging from climbing a 12-foot vertical wooden wall to belly-crawling in a pit of mulch underneath wire mesh. The cold and rainy weather did not deter the Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen that participated in the competition.

"It's cold," said Ensign Jared Smoot, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). "I have been involved in Fleet Week before but this is my first time participating in an event like this. I'm excited."

The HESCO BoneFrog is held multiple times a year all across the U.S. The full-sized, family-centered event boasts 50 Navy SEAL-style obstacles, such as running up to 11 miles while overcoming different obstacles approximately every quarter mile. HESCO BoneFrog is designed to be Navy SEAL strong and test a competitor's limits. They also offer a scaled down version of the obstacle course for kids, so nobody gets left out of the excitement.

"I've always watched Fox News on TV and now I'm on it," said Interior Communications Electrician 3rd Class Matthew Devillier, assigned to USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). "I told my grandmother and father to watch me. I have aspirations of becoming a Navy SEAL, too. This is a good way to familiarize myself with the training."

FWNY, now in its 29th year, is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services. The weeklong celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984.
