At the recent Department of the Navy (DON) Information Technology (IT) Conference in Norfolk, the Naval Supply Systems Command Business Systems Center (NAVSUP BSC), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania showcased its ability to accelerate digital business solutions to improve Defense readiness.

NAVSUP BSC provides a broad range of IT services to a broad Navy audience that address major business challenges, particularly in the areas of: inventory control, global logistics, contract management, financial support, Supply Systems Support and Data Analytics.

The eye-catching graphics of the NAVSUP BSC booth at the Conference were enhanced by a dynamic 2017 Command Video that explains NAVSUP BSC's ability to keep pace with technological change. In the video, Capt. Douglas M. Bridges, Jr., Commanding Officer, NAVSUP BSC said "Our [Navy] Business Intelligence Services (NBIS) allows our customers to pour through and analyze the information they need across big data, and they can do it in less time than it takes to say your name."

Not everyone who visited the booth was aware of the full range of services that NAVSUP BSC provides, particularly in the area of data analytics. Eric Ferraro, Enterprise IT Program Manager from Naval Sea Systems Command, commented, "after hearing what you have to offer, I promptly contacted my leadership team, recommending they take this opportunity to join with the NBIS endeavor. I can see this as a win-win for us to collaborate."

Throughout the day, the NAVSUP BSC booth received a lot of traffic and positive reviews. The booth was manned by NAVSUP BSC employees who increased awareness of the organization's digital capabilities and eagerly fielded questions. Scott Lutterloh, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, commented, "I am so impressed with your presentation; not only of the booth, but the warm reception and excellent responses to my questions."

The NAVSUP BSC Public Affairs Office led by Vickie Hardy and supported by Erin Fulfer and Lt. Roxie Allen, coordinated the logistics for this event. Patrick Mitchell, Paul Hartman, Megan Nicols, Jason Leonard, and Michael Pehanich from BSC all participated in the conference and significantly contributed to the success of the event by providing technical support and engaging NAVSUP BSC booth visitors.
