Sailors assigned to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) collected and donated holiday gifts for The Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program, Dec. 8.

Petty Officer 1st Class Nathaniel L. Creary, assigned to NECC, headed the gift giving occasion as another opportunity for the First Class Petty Officer Association to get involved in their local community.

"This year we collected gifts for 30 children with ages ranging from 3 to 12," said Creary. "I think this is a really nice way to give back to these children and I believe it will really help them enjoy the holiday season."

Sailors assigned to NECC have participated in the Angel Tree Program previously. Creary is one of those Sailors proud to keep the tradition alive.

"This Angel Tree Program is important to the friends and families it supports, and for that reason we're keeping it going," said Creary.

The holiday gifts collected will be donated to The Salvation Army where they will be distributed to the children in need.

Sailors assigned to NECC have a history of offering their support to the local community, not only during the holidays, but year round.

NECC is an enduring war fighting force providing sea-to-shore and inland operating environment capabilities across the full range of military operations, which is focused on delivering combat-effective expeditionary forces ready for worldwide operations now and into the future.
