The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is "Sharpening the Spear" through its cutting-edge research and proudly announces the next Naval Research Working Group (NRWG) 17 this April 18-20, 2017 aboard the Monterey campus.

The NPS Naval Research Program (NRP) serves as a SECNAV-funded launch-point for new initiatives, which posture naval forces to meet current and future operational warfighter challenges.
NPS' world-class faculty and students study the cutting-edge developments of operational Naval forces across the globe.

Organized by the NRP, the NRWG has successfully served as a forum for Navy and Marine organizations to communicate, review, validate, and recommend topics for NPS research in FY18.

Now in its 4th year, the annual NRWG is the primary synchronization and collaboration event bringing together fleet topic sponsors, NPS faculty members, and students to discuss potential research initiatives.

This year's NRWG introduces a new format and features a Research Trade Show. Research Topic Sponsors will be on site and personally available in their assigned booths to discuss research opportunities, the benefit(s) to the Naval services, and expected deliverables from the selected NRP research projects with individual NPS faculty and students.

Also new to the agenda are NPS lab tours scheduled for April 18 and 20. Lab tours are the perfect opportunity for Topic Sponsors to gain a more in-depth understanding of the specific research Lab capabilities at NPS. Over 15 labs will participate.

Back by popular demand is the Faculty Poster Session. NPS faculty will be available to discuss their research initiatives and findings.

Funding for FY18 is proposed to be $13.8M. To date, over 1,000 topics have been submitted through the NRP Topic Portal, and over 500 research projects have been completed or are in progress.

Register now by visiting the NRP website at https://my.nps.edu/nrp where the NRWG 17 Agenda can be reviewed for complete event details.

Join the conversation with the NRP online at twitter@NPS NRP.

Please note:
All Research Topic Sponsors must register for NRWG 17 no later than March 27, 2017 by visiting the NRP website and the Topic Portal.
