Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast awarded an $11.2 million contract June 15 to Mark Dunning Industries, Inc., a small business based in Dothan, Alabama, to supply regional base operating support services (RBOS) in northeastern Florida at Naval Air Station Jacksonville; the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery; Naval Station Mayport; and at Blount Island Command.

The work to be performed includes custodial, pest control, integrated solid waste management, and grounds maintenance and landscaping for these locations.

"The selection of Mark Dunning Industries for this award was based on their overall proposal that demonstrated the best value to the government based on criteria we needed met," said NAVFAC Southeast Contracting Officer Nicole Wilhelm. "They were chosen using the lowest price technically acceptable source selection process."

The work will be performed in Jacksonville and the base contract runs through July 2017. However, the base and four option years could increase the contract value to more than $57 million.
