The staff and students of the Culinary Specialist "A" School in Fort Lee, Virginia, and the Joint Culinary Center of Excellence JCCoE worked hand-in-hand with the USO Team to support the USO Warrior Week Patriotic Festival from May 28-31 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.

"The event was fun and successful," said Culinary Specialist (SW) 1st Clsass Maureen Go, Center for Service Support Fort Lee instructor. "The amount of effort involved from the participating students and staff was staggering, from the preparation, cooking and serving of the meal, everyone that participated in this event was astounded with the various delicious and healthy food choices that the JCCoE and CS "A" School team provided."

With the help of the USO and local outdoor recreational organizations, participants enjoyed activities like kayaking, surfing, water skiing and deep-sea fishing. Wounded warriors and their families were also invited to attend free outdoor concerts and shows by local performers and the USO Show Troupe.

At the end of each day's activities, Warrior Week participants were invited to attend the Patriot Festival to enjoy food and free performances by the top recording artists including the Band Perry, Jake Owen and Little Big Town.

"The purpose of the support was to provide on-site culinary support for the USO Hampton Roads supporting Wounded Warriors, their family members and their caretakers attending the Patriotic Festival," said Mr. Raymond Beu, Director, JCCoE.
