17 September 2020 A Crisis Leader -- Vice Adm. Diego E. "Duke" Hernandez -- Decorated Pilot and Hispanic Hero When Vice Adm. Diego "Duke" Hernandez retired in 1991, he was the highest ranking hispanic in the Navy. A native Puerto Rican, Hernandez was a Vietnam War Hero who rose to the highest levels of the Navy.
