The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain Personal Property office (PPSO) created a team vision board to show customers their aspirations for the upcoming year, March 1. The PPSO vision board helped the staff manifest goals which creates constant awareness to target best business practices for the future.
Each team member actively participated in creating the vision board. Employees focused on imageries to attain a positive work environment while maintaining balance in life. The team vision board created inspiration to move forward with great success. Team members shared their goals and conveyed ideas to improve productivity to support the mission.
“The PPSO Vision Board initiative was derived from Gerald Bridgers, PPSO Director. He is not only our Director, but he is a good Coach. He leads our team and helps individual members with career improvement. He finds talents in each team member and encourages them to achieve goals in SMART way. In order to achieve these goals and bring our dreams to reality; PPSO needed a vision board. The vision board is a tool for manifestation and it gives a clear picture on where we are now and where we want to be in future,” said Binu Pathrose, transportation assistant, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain.
The staff’s comprehensive vision helps to represent metrics necessary to reach milestones for the personal property team. One aspect of the vision board includes the team’s Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) project. The team is currently working on multiple process improvement projects highlighting invoices, databases, quality, and exporting. One of their most recent projects included the implementation of face to face counseling for outbound shipments. This process was implemented in Jan. 2018 and has already received rave reviews from customers. The face to face counseling has reduced outbound shipping process by five days and made the online shipping process much easier for customers to understand.
“The vision board initiative gives energy to convert our dreams to reality. When we set goals, we work hard to reach them. The vision board also helps the team proactively think in a process improvement mindset. When we see the vision board each day, it inspires us to achieve the targets,” said Pathrose.
The personal property team creates a family environment which builds comradery among the employees and emphasizes teamwork for continued logistic support to the war fighters, DoD Civilians and their families. Their unwavering dedication to implement plans through communication and visualization contributes to NAVSUP FLC Bahrain’s continued success.
