Training Support Center Hampton Roads (TSCHR) selected Michael Schumacher, command pay personnel administrator assigned to the Student Management Office Norfolk Site as its Junior Civilian of the Year (JCOY).
Schumacher distinguished himself as an instrumental member of TSCHR through his invaluable knowledge, expertise and managerial skills with the Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource System database. Encompassing five different schoolhouses totaling 20,000 students, he processed, submitted and tracked more than 200 per diem requests, more than 100 advance travel claims, and more than 30 student action requests.
This is the 2nd time Schumacher has been named JCOY.
“Mike is to the point and does everything he can for all of his students,” said Lynwood Hardy, Norfolk student management site director. “He has the largest work load and works constantly. He’s efficient, always on time and takes the initiative to get things done."
“I was completely shocked to learn that I was named Junior Civilian of the Year," said Schumacher. “I am truly grateful to Mr. Hardy for his tremendous support.”
“Mike has handled all challenges placed before him and has performed far above and beyond what is expected of his grade," said Hardy. "His performance warrants the recognition as Junior Civilian of the Year for what he has accomplished and continues to do for student management.”
