Rear Adm. Michelle C. Skubic, Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) and the 48th Chief of the Supply Corps, officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain’s new headquarters building at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain August 29.
“It was an honor for Admiral Skubic to visit NAVSUP FLC Bahrain and she was the perfect person to open our new building,” said Capt. Terrel Fisher, Commanding Officer, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain. “The Admiral speaks often about taking care of our people and the new building does just that. Moving out of dispersed warehouse office spaces into a permanent office setting boosts the quality of life for the workforce. We now have improved facilities for our team to perform their daily work of supporting the fleet and our many partners around base.”
By consolidating a number of NAVSUP FLC Bahrain’s departments, the move enables cross-departmental communication and collaboration, and places our workforce closer to key partners on NSA Bahrain, thereby enhancing the delivery of NAVSUP’s products and services to local customers.
Following NSA Bahrain’s move to its newly built complex and months of renovations, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain moved into the vacated building. With office space for 97 personnel, the building is now home to the command’s leadership, administrative office, business office, contracting office, general counsel and command support staff.
“This move has been in the works for many months and I want to thank Capt. Kerry Pearson, our facilities team, and all of our partners around NSA who made this happen,” said Fisher.
NAVSUP FLC Bahrain is one of eight FLCs under Commander, NAVSUP. Headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and employing a diverse, worldwide workforce of more than 22,500 military and civilian personnel, NAVSUP's mission is to provide supplies, services, and quality-of-life support to the Navy and joint warfighter.
