Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast awarded a $12.7 million firm-fixed-price task order under a previous multiple award construction contract to Leebcor Services LLC out of Williamsburg, Virginia September 12 for a new facility at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
“Construction of the new NOSC Augusta building on Fort Gordon will provide state-of-the-art facilities to better prepare our Reserve Sailors to support national tasking and mission support,” said Navy Region Southeast Jacksonville Reserve Component Command Director of Logistics and Infrastructure Cmdr. Kurt Williams.
The work to be performed includes the construction of a single-story Naval Operational Support Center (NOSC) which shall serve as the Navy Reserve headquarters, training, operations, medical service center and gather location at Fort Gordon.
“Additionally, this facility will ensure increased force protection for our Navy units and personnel, aligning with Chief of Navy Installation Command requirements by providing increased security within the protective barriers of Fort Gordon,” said Williams.
The project is expected to be completed by January 2020.
