Surface Warfare Officer School Unit (SWOSU) Great Lakes awarded Instructors and Sailors of the Quarter during a ceremony, Oct. 23.
Master Chief Machinist Mate John James Hogrewe, senior enlisted advisor at SWOSU Great Lakes, said the boards were challenging for the instructors reflecting the high quality and commitment to excellence demonstrated at the command.
"There were an outstanding group of nominees that we had the pleasure of judging," Waranis said. "We look at a number of factors from the nominees; such as overall performance, education, speaking ability, community involvement, evaluations, etc."
Cmdr. Patterson, commanding officer of SWOSU Great Lakes said the selections epitomize the dedication and professionalism of Sailors within the command. He has every confidence they will continue to provide Sailors with the needed and necessary training for the world's finest Navy.
“One of my favorite things is being able to recognize Sailors for outstanding performance,” Patterson said. “The Sailor/Instructor of the Quarter program gives the command a regular opportunity to recognize outstanding performance. We are very fortunate to have Sailors of this caliber here providing accession level training to our next generation of Fleet Sailors. The competition for this program is always tough here at SWOSU Great Lakes and I would like to think that these Sailors represent the standard and not the exception.”
