The Surface Warfare Officer School (SWOS) Domain named a Surface Warfare Officer School Unit (SWOSU) Great Lakes Sailor as their 2018 Sailor of the Year.

Electrician's Mate 1st Class Jennifer Hall was chosen over a number of equally impressive Sailors for the honor.

"We are incredibly proud of Petty Officer Hall," said SWOS' Commanding Officer Capt. Scott Robertson. “She has distinguished herself and emerged as the best-of-the-best within a large organization staffed by top-tier talent.”

As the curriculum manager for three courses, she managed the complete revision of Shipboard Elevators. Hall’s institutional and technical expertise was vital in the developing of the new Shipboard Elevator’s Course and the Steering Gear Course.

“Petty Officer Hall’s enthusiasm, self-driven and attitude attention to detail was instrumental while conducting Train-the-Trainer, identifying discrepancies on all instructional materials and with the hands-on trainers to ensure quality training to the fleet,” said Cmdr. Terrance Patterson, commanding officer of SWOSU Great Lakes. “She is a committed and confident professional whose passion for the job and focus on her personnel are unmatched. Her commitment and degree of excellence is why she was named Sailor of the Year.”
