Training Support Center Hampton Roads (TSCHR) Morale Welfare and Recreation Committee hosts 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off.
The event was held at the Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex Taylor Hall auditorium.
Honorary first place was presented to Chief Cryptologic Technician Collection Priscilla Farnsworth, 2nd Place Engineman 1st Class Petty Officer Geoffrey Pomerleau and 3rd Place to Chief Sonar Technician Geographic Richard Chambers.
The judges were: Capt. Matthew Rick, TSCHR, commanding officer, Lt. Cmdr. Michael Bubulka, executive officer and CMDCM Keith Webb, command master chief petty officer.
The chili was judged on overall best tasting and heat (spicy).
“This is the first year I made chili for the cook-off and I didn't’t expect to win," said Farnsworth. "I entered this year, to support our MWR and I was so surprised and excited that I won.”
Farnsworth is originally from Charleston, South Carolina, and she’s been cooking for her family for many years. “After she won, she told her friends, “Don’t try to mess with a Southern Woman when it comes to cooking.”
Capt. Rick sent out an all hands message thanking the contestants and the MWR committee for sponsoring another great and fun annual event.
