Patients with back pain can now directly book an appointment with Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Physical Therapy Clinic without seeing their primary care manager, if they meet certain criteria.
Physical Therapy typically sees patients within one to two business days. Criteria for this service include that patients not have back pain for more than 90 days, no recent motor vehicle accident, and no other current medical needs.
Physical Therapy can successfully manage back pain with physical manipulation, exercise, and education. If needed, Physical Therapy can also refer you to a specialist, prescribe medication, and order images (like an MRI). Seeing a physical therapist first can help return you to everyday activities, and reduce the need for higher-risk treatment like surgery.
To schedule a physical therapy appointment, call 904-542-7375.
