The Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) named its Training Manager of the Quarter for the fourth quarter, March 19, on board Naval Air Station Pensacola.

Mark Tinetti, an instructional systems specialist assigned to the CNATT Ready, Relevant Learning (RRL) team, was recognized as the organization's top training employee from October to December 2017. RRL is one of the Navy's Sailor 2025 key initiatives, with a focus on providing Sailors the right training at the right time throughout their career through more performance-based training, as opposed to more traditional knowledge-based training.

"The manner in which we're leveraging technology to achieve the best possible results in providing top-notch education to our students wouldn't be possible without the dedication of staff members like Mr. Tinetti," said Cmdr. Bret Bishop, CNATT training directorate deputy director. "What he was able to accomplish in regards to a new electronic training method is something which can significantly enhance a student's learning now and when they venture to the fleet."

Tinetti was selected for his efforts to coordinate the development of the "Aviation Corrosion Challenge" app, an interactive, score-based gaming scenario for identifying corrosion. The app is available to download through the Navy AppLocker, Google Play for Android users, and iTunes for iOS users, and is designed to augment current corrosion training.

Additionally, Tinetti has been instrumental in the RRL block learning analysis phase for reviewing the aviation boatswain's mate (fuel) rating and Aviation/Airman Professional Apprenticeship Career Track.

Individual "blocks" of training will deliver only the technical knowledge and skills required by the rating at specific points in a Sailor's career.

Tinetti also supported a short-fused request to assist in development of cadre training for four critical Marine occupational specialties associated with the CH-53 King Stallion helicopter.

CNATT is a training center under Naval Education and Training Command and is a technical training agent for the Naval Aviation Enterprise, an organization designed to advance and sustain naval aviation warfighting capabilities.
