From Lt. Camden C. Bennett, Information Warfare Training Command San Diego Public Affairs Officer

James Hagy, Center for Information Warfare Training's (CIWT) executive director, visited Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) San Diego, May 9.

Hagy joined CIWT in March after a 40-year Navy career, from which he retired as a captain. His trip to San Diego was part of a larger effort to visit all commands within the CIWT domain.

"I'm taking this opportunity to visit IWTC San Diego to view the facilities, discuss the mission, and most importantly, meet the people here," said Hagy. "It's important I can relate to you firsthand and have a firm grasp of your resources and any challenges you face."

Hagy began his visit with a command brief provided by Cmdr. Kelly Robbins, IWTC San Diego's commanding officer. They discussed day-to-day operations as well as future plans for IWTC San Diego's sites in Japan, Hawaii, and Washington state. By close of business, Hagy had travelled to each of IWTC San Diego's four local locations and met with the division officers who oversee training for cryptologic technicians and information systems technicians.

"Mr. Hagy's visit presented a great opportunity to display our successes as a command, and to outline our challenges," Robbins said. "His support will pay dividends in ensuring the Fleet continues to receive the great training our instructors provide."

IWTC San Diego, as part of the Center for Information Warfare Training, provides a continuum of training to Navy and joint service personnel that prepares them to conduct information warfare across the full spectrum of military operations.
