Job Fair Helps Qualified Candidates Find Positions at NAVFAC Southwest

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest conducted on-site job interviews with about 188 people and made tentative offers to 18 qualified candidates at a Veterans Employment Committee of San County Job and Resource fair May 17 in San Diego.

"We are looking to fill over 200 positions at this event and NAVFAC Southwest will be conducting interviews and making tentative job offers on site," said Richard Hickman, NAVFAC Southwest Human Resources director.

The 200 positions were in the skilled trades of electricians, high voltage electricians, multi-disciplines tradesmen, plumbers, pipefitters, air conditioning equipment mechanics, HVAC mechanics, architect-designers, construction managers and various engineering disciplines.

Most of the positions were located in public works departments at San Diego, Coronado, Seal Beach, Ventura, China Lake, and Lemoore.

Applicants were required to be U.S. citizens and able to pass background checks. Vacancies were not available in every job series at all sites.
