CSCSU Great Lakes Holds Frocking Ceremony

Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit (CSCSU) Great Lakes held a frocking ceremony for six staff members who advanced to the next pay grade, May 31.
Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit (CSCSU) Great Lakes held a frocking ceremony for six staff members who advanced to the next pay grade, May 31.

The frocking ceremony, where Sailors receive the right to wear the uniform and assume the responsibilities of their next rank, is a Navy tradition that precedes actual advancement.

Advancing as petty officers were Electronics Technician 1st Class Jesse Arellano, Fire Controlman 1st Class Drew Frink, Interior Communications Electrician 1st Class Justin Lowe, Fire Controlman Aegis 1st James Whittington, Fire Controlman 1st Class Brett Williams and Interior Communications Electrician 1st Class Stephanie Zeisler.

"I am always proud to frock junior Sailors to another pay grade," said Cmdr. James Dancer, commanding officer at CSCSU Great Lakes. "It recognizes all the hard work and dedication Sailors show on a regular basis CSCSU Great Lakes."
